Headhunting in Watseka
On Pandora listening stations, Larry Taylor's band is often paired, sound-wise, with the rockin' country fellas of the Kentucky Headhunters. (Don't forget--blues is the root of all American popular music, including jazz, rock, bluegrass country, R&B and hiphop!) Reason for the match: the heavy backbeat of Headhunters drummer Fred Young. Well, the Headhunters graciously invited Larry to sing "Bad Boy" and Junior Wells "Messin with the Kid" on stage at Watseka, IL, a cornfield town an hour south of Chicago. The Watseka Theatre audience loved it!
